MASTER OF ARTS IN EDUCATIONAL MANAGEMENT

The Master of Arts in Educational Management is designed for practicing school administrators who wish to improve their skills in administration and gain a wider understanding of the processes of school management within the context of a developing society.

 

PROGRAM EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES

The Master of Arts in Educational Management graduates are expected to:

 

  1. demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of the foundations of education and their influences on contemporary educational practices and innovations;
  2. compare the different leadership imperatives suited for diverse educational settings;
  3. assess educational issues, challenges, and problems confronting the workplace settings;
  4. create appropriate strategies to sustain efficient and effective operations;
  5. conduct project/research undertakings with due consideration to ethical and moral perspectives
  6. initiate community activities or projects through trainings or research undertakings;
  7. display academic expertise imbued with positive disposition and values necessary to become dynamic and influential leaders in educational institutions;
  8. apply pedagogical leadership, and research skills imbued with the highest moral and ethical standards;
  9. present research findings to a specified audience or forum; and
  10. organize community-oriented projects through trainings or research undertakings.

MASTER OF ARTS IN TEACHING ENGLISH LANGUAGE AND LITERATURE TEACHING

The Master of Arts in English Language and Literature Teaching aims to develop competence/expertise in the teaching of English language and literature in the tertiary level as well as in the basic education.

 

PROGRAM EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES

The M.A. in English Language and Literature Teaching graduates are expected to:

 

  1. Demonstrate advanced knowledge of the principles, theories, and skills in teaching English language and literature.
  2. Demonstrate skills in creating, analyzing, and applying approaches and techniques in language and literature teaching.
  3. Demonstrate advanced pedagogical and research skills in the advancement of teaching English language and literature in the basic and higher education.
  4. Demonstrate advanced skills in organizing community-oriented projects and programs in the promotion of English language and literature.

MASTER OF ARTS IN PHYSICAL EDUCATION AND SPORTS

This course is designed to provide students high level training, effective participation and leadership in their respective organizations, research capability and improve professional practice.

 

PROGRAM EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES

The M.A. in Physical Education and Sports students are expected to:

  1. display an in-depth understanding of the principles, theories, and applications in enhancing Physical Education as a Science.
  2. manifest cultural understanding of content and approaches of Physical Education that promotes total well-being.
  3. apply leadership skills, take leadership posts, and serve as change agents in their respective workplaces.
  4. demonstrate professional competencies in dealing with the emerging and complex educational and administrative trends and issues.
  5. conduct project/research undertakings with due consideration to ethical and moral perspectives.
  6. administer research in advancing the development of Physical Education and Sports Culture.
  7. present research findings to a specified audience or forum; and
  8. organize community-oriented projects through trainings or research undertakings.

MASTER OF ARTS IN TEACHING MATHEMATICS

The Master of Arts in Teaching Mathematics is designed to develop the scientific and pedagogical skills of mathematics teachers.

 

PROGRAM EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES

 

  1. examine the effects of philosophical ideas, principles, and theories in modern day practices, issues, and trends in teaching Mathematics.
  2. evaluate the use of instructional materials in teaching Mathematics.
  3. design student centered/ activity-oriented methodologies which promote total student engagement.
  4. demonstrate excellence in teaching with the use of appropriate pedagogical techniques in classroom instruction.
  5. apply pedagogical and research skills imbued with the highest moral and ethical standards.
  6. create various approaches and techniques appropriate for diverse types of learners.
  7. devise school-based or community-initiated projects/programs which promote the advancement of knowledge production in Mathematics.
  8. conduct action/participatory research to initiate innovation and improvement in teaching Science
  9. present the results to a specified audience or forum; and
  10. organize community-oriented projects through trainings or research undertakings.

MASTER OF ARTS IN TEACHING SCIENCE

The Master of Arts in Teaching Science is designed to develop the scientific and pedagogical skills of science teachers.

MASTER OF ARTS IN RELIGIOUS AND VALUES EDUCATION

Inspired by the Spirit, The MARVE Program is designed to address the needs of proving professionals and spiritual development support of lay pastors, educators, religious leaders, catechists, and youth ministers who are actively involved in building Basic Ecclesial communities and school setting. In line with HAU’s mission statement of providing quality education, the program is geared towards sustaining the Christian formation program of the University by providing a solid, theological, missiological, and pastoral formation that is contextualized and culture-conscious in faithfulness to the life and ministry of Jesus Christ.

 

PROGRAM EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES

The M.A. in Religious and Values Education graduates are expected to:

  1. Demonstrate advanced knowledge of the various theories, concepts, and materials (e.g., written texts, oral reports) in the academic study of religious and values education.
  2. Demonstrate advanced skills in assessing key doctrines and principles, evaluating fundamental issues, and implementing educational experiences that are spiritually strengthening, intellectually enlarging, and character building.
  3. Demonstrate advanced knowledge in the application of factual knowledge and conceptual understanding of the scripture, doctrine, and history in problem solving task;
  4. Demonstrate advanced research skills in responding to theological and religious inquiries
  5. Demonstrate advanced skills in organizing community-oriented projects and programs in the promotion of religious and values education.
