Holy Angel University (HAU) first offered its two-year Associate Program in Computer Technology in 1993, followed by the Bachelor of Science in Computer Science (BSCS) in 1996. In 2000, it expanded its computing programs with the Bachelor of Science in Information Technology (BSIT) and the Bachelor of Science in Information Management (BSIM) to respond to the growing needs of the IT industry.
In 2005–2006, the computing department was elevated to college status as the College of Information and Communications Technology (CICT), now known as the School of Computing (SOC). The College later introduced BSCS with a specialization in Systems Development and BSIT with specializations in Network Administration and Multimedia Technology. In School Year 2010–2011, the Multimedia Technology track was strengthened through new areas of specialization in Animation and Web Development.
HAU became one of the eight Cisco Regional Academies in the Philippines, integrating Cisco Networking Academy courses that enhanced its curriculum, facilities, and global linkages. When Cisco restructured its academy model, the institution became an Academy Support Center, a role it has maintained for more than two decades. It was recognized as a Model Local Academy in 2009 and received Premier Partner Awards in the Asia-Pacific Region in 2023 and 2025.
In 2007, CHED recognized the College as a Center of Development (COD) for Information Technology Education in Region III. In 2020, the BSCS and BSIT programs achieved PAASCU Level II and Level III accreditations, and both programs were certified by the ASEAN University Network – Quality Assurance (AUN-QA) in 2023 and 2021 respectively, further affirming compliance with regional and international standards.
Currently, the School of Computing offers four undergraduate programs, BSCS, BSIT, BSEMC, and BS in Cybersecurity, as well as graduate programs, including the Master of Information Technology and the Professional Science Master’s (PSM) in Cybersecurity. The latter is the first of its kind in the Philippines, formed in partnership with the USAID in 2020.
