HAU inks agreement with UPenn School of Nursing

The University of Pennsylvania School of Nursing formalizes its academic partnership with Holy Angel University - School of Nursing and Allied Medical Sciences (SNAMS) through the signing of the memorandum of agreement on February 01, 2022. The two institutions agree to cooperate on a multinational exchange in pre-registration nursing and midwifery education.

The virtual signing of memorandum of agreement is attended by HAU officials led by Mr. Leopoldo N. Valdes, OIC-President, Ms. Edna Marriza C. Santos, Assistant Academic Vice President, and Ms. Stephanie Mabasa, OIC-Internationalization Officer. Likewise, Prof. Al D. Biag, EdD, RN (SNAMS Dean), Asst. Prof. Noriel P. Calaguas, MSHSA, RN ACRN (BSN Program Chair), some nursing faculty, and students have witnessed the event. Prof. Sarah H. Kagan, PhD, RN; Asst. Prof. Dennis F. Dalmacio, PhD, ACRN; and other staff represented the UPenn School of Nursing.

Initially, 12 undergraduate nursing students and three professors are set to participate in a 12-week collaborative online international learning (COIL) course that commences on February 18 and runs until May 06, 2022. The course aims to build the students’ capacity to critically analyze and synthesize varied responses of nurses, midwives, and other health professionals to global health crises.
