Psychology is the scientific study of the human mind and behavior. It seeks to understand and explain how people think, feel, act, and interact with each other and their environment. This field of study encompasses a wide range of topics and sub-disciplines, and it employs various research methods and approaches to gain insights into human cognition, emotion, motivation, perception, development, and social interaction.
Curriculum and Career Emphasis:
Bachelor of Science in Psychology (BS Psychology): This program typically has a stronger focus on the scientific and it includes coursework in natural sciences, such as biology and chemistry. It is pursued by students who plan to pursue careers in research, healthcare (as a ore-med course), or more science-oriented areas of psychology. It can be a good choice for those interested in pursuing graduate studies in psychology or related fields.
Bachelor of Arts in Psychology (AB Psychology): The Bachelor of Arts program does not include natural sciences subjects and is pursued by students planning to engage in industrial settings or as a pre-law course.
Both BS Psychology and AB Psychology Programs are tailor-fitted to prepare students for the Psychometrician Board Licensure Examinations of the Professional Regulation Commission.
