‘The Challengers’ HS Batch ’93 hosts 27th HAU Grand Alumni Homecoming

“The Challengers”, High School Batch ’93 had successfully hosted the 27th Grand Alumni Homecoming last December 29, 2018 at the Immaculate Heart Gymnasium, in cooperation with the HAU Alumni Association, Inc. (HAUAAI).
The year-long preparation of The Challengers paid off when some 800 HAU alumni from here and abroad assembled for the annual homecoming.
The homecoming kicked-off with the motorcade in the morning and a thanksgiving mass at the Chapel of Holy Guardian Angel at 4:00 p.m. followed by the registration and parade of batches at the IH Gym.


A welcome address from HS Batch ’93 President Mr. Gerardo De Leon and a video message from the University President Dr. Luis Maria R. Calingo officially started the homecoming.
The main honorees this year as they celebrated their golden anniversary were HS Batch ’68 (The Victors). The oldest batch attendee was from HS Batch ’50 (The Torchbearers) represented by Sr. Josefina G. Nepomuceno, O.S.B. and the newest attendees for this year homecoming were the Grade School Batch ’88.

The Alumni Association gave honor to the outstanding alumni for their outstanding achievements: Mr. Teodoro H. Narciso, Batch ’68 (for Architecture), Mr. Rogelio P. Ayson, Batch ’79 (for Business and Community Development), Mr. Norman P. Tiotuico, Batch ’83 (for Arts and Culture) and Mr. Ivan Ramesis P. Mayrina, Batch ’93 (for Broadcasting).
The occasion featured with dance presentations from the different batches and with the turnover of the symbolic key of responsibility from The Challengers (HS Batch ’93) to The Crusaders (HS Batch ’94) who will be hosting the next Grand Alumni Homecoming.
The reunion was hosted by Mr. William Banal, Ms. Alberta Z. Supan and Mr. Ivan Mayrina.
