As the highlight of HUMSS Week 2025, the Humanities and Social Sciences Department, in partnership with the Aslag SHS Academic Team, proudly collaborated with Iskoolmates, PTV’s premier youth-oriented program that amplifies the voices of Filipino students and young leaders to provide a platform for Humanistas and fellow SHS students to engage in meaningful debates on pressing national issues.

The collaboration will feature two special episodes. The first episode, Pagtanggal sa Mandatory Senior High School, Dapat o Hindi Dapat?, will feature Grade 12 students Kisha Caitlin Sese, Alvin Jr. Pineda, Jian Florence Mortel, and Arianne Lei Tagama, together with Grade 11 students Diether Balajadia and Althea Joehara Barcena as debaters.

Meanwhile, the second episode, Completed College Degree para sa mga tumatakbong kandidato sa Local at National Positions, Dapat o Hindi Dapat?, will highlight the debating skills of Grade 12 students Francine Balang, Jiarei Denise Cunan, Shanna Nicole Loon, and Dominic Lyndon Hedges, alongside Grade 11 students Juan Rafael Gloria and Frances Gabrielle Pongco.

The episodes will air on September 18 and 25 (Thursday), from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m., and will be available on multiple platforms: PTV Free TV Channel 4, PTV Facebook Page and YouTube Channel, Iskoolmates Facebook Page and YouTube Channel, Affordabox Channel 9, TV Plus Channel 1, Sky Cable/Destiny Cable Channel 6, and Cignal/GSAT Channel 4.

This partnership underscores the HUMSS mission of nurturing critical thinkers, articulate communicators, and servant-leaders who are ready to take part in national discourse and contribute to meaningful social transformation.
