GSED Shares Experiences with AGTES

The Graduate School of Education spent an afternoon of learning and exchange with the stakeholders of Abelardo G. Tinio Elementary School (AGTES) on February 3.
Spearheaded by the Doctor of Philosophy in Educational Management (PhD EDMA) students and supported by the Master of Arts in Educational Management (MAED) students, the said activity was part of a trifocal service learning community immersion program with the theme “Creating a More Involved Teaching-Learning Experience, HAU PhD EDMA Students’ Community Immersion at AGTES”.
The program was intended for the pupils, parents, and teachers to share their experiences in the same manner that the resource speakers shared their expertise.
In the first breakout session, 30 pupils (from Grades 5 to 6) were taught on study and learning habits which are essential to their success, while the 30 parents and 30 teachers were engaged in activities that may create a more involved and meaningful learning experiences with their children and pupils. The speakers were Ms. Maribeth Bernardino, Ms. Sue Alexandrea Cruz, Ms. Sonia Garcia, Ms. Kathleya Vianca Habon, Ms. Kimberly Lintag, Ms. Rowena Sibal, and Sr. Theresa Joycelyn Lamarroza.
The PhD students also served as the technical working group with Mr. Haynes Narciso, Mr. Angelo Adriano, and Ms. Maylin Bayza as members, under the supervision and guidance of their University and Community Relations Professor, Dr. Janette Rodriquez, the Graduate Program Coordinator, Dr. Cecilia Teodoro, and the Dean, Dr. Alma Natividad. Mrs. Eliza Buan, the principal, headed the AGTES Community.
