3rd Forensic Science International Lecture Series kicks off
College of Criminal Justice Education and Forensics

The College of Criminal Justice Education and Forensics (CCJEF) successfully hosted the opening session of the 3rd Forensic Science International Lecture Series with the theme "Meliora: Over and Beyond the Forensic Science Horizon” which was held last September 16, 2022 via Zoom and Facebook Live.
Mr. Leopoldo Jaime N. Valdes, the OIC-University President opened the lecture series with a motivational remark. He highlighted how the series contributed in disseminating knowledge to people despite the unprecedented times, "This series has grown through the pandemic years. And we are happy to have Northwestern University partnered with us to co-deliver. Our international talks attract thousands of Criminology and Forensic Science students and experts over the Philippines and parts of the world."
Equivalently, Dr. Niño M. Kabiling, the dean of CCJEF, outlined how the series benefits the general public and how it has evolved through time with technology, "In this lecture series, we will learn from our forensic science experts, the use of innovative fields in forensic science both now and in the future. A series of emerging technologies are blending power major advances. In the analytical science that underpins the fields of forensic science."
The two prominent resource speakers on the first day were Dr. Ranjeet Singh, CEO & Founder of Sherlock Institute of Forensic Science in India (SIFS) and President of International Association of Scientist and Researchers (IASR) and Dr. Pascal Adalian, Professor in Biological Anthropology, Aix-Marseille University in France and President of Forensic Anthropology Society of Europe (FASE).
Singh shared his expertise in Forensic Technology at Crime Scene for Fair Trial in the Justice System. He emphasized the significance of forensic science in resolving crimes and ensuring that victims get justice they deserve.
Dr. Adalian explore the Forensic Anthropology: The Discipline and its Future Challenges topic. He discussed about the challenges and how to enhance forensic practice to work with all forensic sciences.
Ms. Jana Joyce Colian, the CCJEF program coordinator, expressed her gratitude to all the organizations who made the lecture series possible to happen.
More than 1,000 students coming from different higher educational institutions and government institutions, professional organizations, and forensic enthusiasts across the world participated in the lecture series. The series will resume September 24, and September 30, 2022.
