In a move to further enhance its academic programs and elevate its standards, the Philippine Military Academy (PMA) Academic Group conducted a benchmarking visit last November 22, 2024, to two esteemed colleges and schools: the College of Criminal Justice Education and Forensics (CCJEF) and the School of Computing (SOC) of Holy Angel University (HAU). This initiative signals PMA's commitment to continuous improvement and its recognition of the value of collaboration with civilian academic leaders.

The PMA delegation, headed by Brigadier General Jose Demar A. Pauly, Dean of Academics and Head of the Academic Group, was warmly welcomed by Mr. Leopoldo Jaime N. Valdes, the OIC- President of HAU. Dr. Niño M. Kabiling, Dean of CCJEF, and Dr. Marlon Tayag, Dean of SOC, extended their hospitality and facilitated insightful discussions with the PMA delegates.

During their visit, the PMA delegation toured the state-of-the-art laboratories of both CCJEF and SOC. At CCJEF, they observed the cutting-edge facilities used in crime scene investigation, forensic analysis, digital forensics, and legal studies. The SOC showcased its advanced computing laboratories equipped with the latest technology for research and development in cybersecurity. These tours provided valuable insights into how technology and modern equipment are integrated into the curriculum and utilized for hands-on learning experiences.

This benchmarking activity focused on key areas such as curriculum development, teaching methodologies, faculty development, and technology integration in education. The PMA Academic Group engaged in fruitful exchanges with their counterparts from CCJEF and SOC, exploring best practices and innovative approaches to enhance the learning experience of their respective students.

The collaboration between PMA and HAU highlights the importance of inter-institutional partnerships in fostering academic excellence and promoting knowledge sharing. By learning from the best practices of civilian institutions, PMA can further refine its academic programs and ensure that its cadets receive a well-rounded education that prepares them for the challenges of the 21st century.
