About Us

Holy Angel University Street Dance Crew (HAUSDC) is a nonprofit organization from Holy Angel University founded by Jullian Paminutan in 2013. HAUSDC was recognized for performing different intermission numbers from different events inside the campus and acing dance competitions outside the university later on. Moreover, the crew was officially accredited as a nonprofit organization by the university with the help of Sir Raymond Patterson.

Brief History

In 2013, Holy Angel University Street Dance Crew became the first ever street dance crew in HAU. It started off with CEA’s Pride Rise Crew. After the University Days 2013, the team decided to collaborate with other dancers from different college departments. Our founder, Jullian Pamintuan, came across a poster of a dance competition called “Smart Jump In” and decided to join the competition together with the co-founders, Justin Culaway, Dwaine Gadores and Henry Galang. The pioneers of the group recruited different dancers from each college departments in joining dance competitions outside the campus, however, the crew needs to be recognized by the University before joining. Thus, HAUSDC sought help from Sir Raymond Patterson, the former adviser of HAUSDC, to become the very first crew in Holy Angel University that educates and empowers its members in Hip-Hop and Street Dance culture.

Membership Requirements and Procedures

Screening is open to any enrolled Holy Angel University student for the first semester. In order to become a member, one must undergo a series of screenings consisting of the live audition, assessment workshop, traineeship and final assessment. The live audition consists of two parts wherein the interested person shall perform his own routine lasting 30 to 90 seconds and an impromptu dance. (The live audition shall be held a week after the preliminary exams of the 1st semester).

After a week, the results of the live audition shall be posted on the Facebook page. Those who passed shall then attend a workshop given by the organization to assess the abilities and personalities of the applicants. After the assessment, the remaining applicants shall enter the stage of traineeship for one (1) year being called probationary members. After a period of one year, the probationary member shall create his/her own routine which consists of all the teachings and learnings that he/she has received during his/her one year of training in the organization. The organization’s officers and alumni will then deliberate and decide if the applicant passes the membership process.
