SED Research Colloquium Conducted

With the objective of sharing the results, recommendations, and directions for future research, an interdisciplinary research colloquium was conducted on October 5 by the School of Education (SED) graduates and students.
The activity was attended by the students from the Teacher Education, master’s, and doctorate programs including thesis and dissertation writers, and the professors and guest lecturers.
The colloquium commenced with the lecture of one of the graduate school (GS) professors, Dr. Racidon P. Bernarte. His lecture focused on scholarly publication, issues, and practices in reputable journals. This is in response to the requirement of the new GS curricula where students are required to have a publication in a refereed journal or juried creative work.
After the lecture, researches from the graduate and undergraduate programs were presented: Development and Validation of a Progressive Research Competency Framework, presented by Dr. Eduardo P. Santillan Jr., a graduate of Doctor of Philosophy in Educational Management (PhD EDMA); Development of Proposed Enhanced Learning Assessment Tool for Early Childhood Education by Ms. Francheska Dizon-Cunanan, a graduate of Master of Arts in Educational Management (MAED); PAMIBULE-BULE: English Translation of Poet Laureate Delfin T. Quiboloy’s Selected Poems as Materials in Teaching Literature by Juan Miguel G. Flores, a graduate of Master of Arts in English Language and Literature Teaching (MAELLT); Lived Experiences of 2nd Year College Students in Learning Physical Education Online by Dianne M. Gomez, a graduate of Master of Arts in Physical Education and Sports (MAPES); The Spiritual Growth and Personal Values of Generation Z College Students by Moriah Dela Cruz-Villanueva, a graduate of Master of Arts in Religious and Values Education (MARVE); Tool Development and Validation for the Evaluation of Video Demonstration Presentation for a General Biology Laboratory Activity by Kevin H. Gomez, a graduate of Master of Arts in Teaching Science (MATS); and Sining ng Pagtatanong sa Modyul 9 Gamit ang Depth of Knowledge (DOK):Isang Mix Metodong Pag-aaral by Karla Jade Liwanag-Bautista, a graduate of Master of Arts in Education in Teaching Filipino (MAEdTF).
Two groups from the undergraduate level also presented their studies: Investigation of Pre-Service Teachers’ Development of Adaptive Competencies in their Practicum Setting by Alleth Lenise C. Cunanan, Loreen D. Delos Santos, and Araya L. Mercado (Bachelor in Elementary Education) and Grammar Proficiency in Writing of Senior High School Students by Kyla Yvette S. Gonzales, Maria Angelucha D. Hebres, and Kyrylle Jane T. Ocampo (Bachelor of Secondary Education major in English).
Dr. Alma M. Natividad, SED Dean, and Dr. Cecilia H. Teodoro, Graduate Program Coordinator, participated in the event and gave their welcoming and closing remarks, respectively. In her opening remarks, Dean Natividad emphasized that the activity is a platform for the exchange of innovative ideas and collaborative exploration.
In the closing remarks, Dr. Teodoro reiterated that the thrusts of HAU remain the same-being responsive to the needs of its clients, seeking academic excellence, and enhancing the research skills of the academic community.
