Adapting to change, the Center for Kapampangan Studies (CKS) has begun revolutionizing the way Kapampangan History and Culture is presented to its visitors. With the help of technology, the line of historical artifacts and museums, visitors from all ages all over the world can now appreciate what the Kapampangan Culture and History is all about. Technology as an aid to this upscaling of history and culture, students from both Holy Angel University and City College of Angeles have developed several applications that made this possible.

On May 26, 2023, the Center for Kapampangan Studies presented the new updates on the museum created by the students that were part of the internship program. Mr. Robby Tantingco, the Director, Center for Kapampangan Studies welcomed the guests and introduced several innovations created to increase the capacity of the Center to catch up with the advancement of technology.

Among the innovations made were the use of Augmented Reality, which make still pictures come to life just by pointing your mobile device on the pictures inside the museum, re-living the actual scene as if you were actually there.

The use of Quick Response Codes (QR Codes) that can be scanned through the use of mobile devices to give a summary of the featured museum artifacts and paintings that are written in English so that all visitors may be able to understand better what the featured are about.

Inside the museum, a new space was opened for seasonal cultural activities where mini-concerts, talent showcase and featured historical collections are highlighted. In the image, the featured collection was several rare vintage fans from Dr. Jojo Valencia.

The School of Computing students demonstrated their work through the Interactive Kiosks found inside the museum. Among the presented work were the Nursery Rhymes Application, the Kapampangan Glossary, the Kulitan Translator, Minindal Application which showcases local restaurants in Pampanga, and the Center for Kapampangan Studies Scheduling System.

As part of the university’s thrust in preserving and promoting Kapampangan culture and lagiage, it honors the innovative work of students which significantly added to the Center’s appeal to the public as a place to look forward to, adapting and keeping up with the fast pace of the changing times.
