In support to the University’s mission statement, which is to provide the atmosphere and opportunities for the members of its academic community toward becoming whole persons by providing quality Catholic education and by promoting Christian values, the University Library has the following objectives in its collection development policy:

  • To provide a qualitatively and quantitatively strong collection that will support the University’s instructional, research and information needs.
  • To ensure adequate, up-to-date, and relevant library resources to the HAU community as a means to achieve the University’s goals and objectives
  • To develop and maintain an effective and working book and non-book collection.
  • To organize and maintain the collection for its maximum and effective use;
  • To provide a continuous program of evaluation of its existing collection through regular deselection.

Organization of the Collection

Dewey Decimal Classification Scheme is being use in the organization of the collection. The library adopts the open shelves system wherein students have an access to the collection and free to scan the books on the shelves.
