One group of Communication seniors developed a website application dubbed as HandSpoken, an output on their Communication Research class. The website application strives to help the deaf community on their daily transactions on food establishments, banks, and payment centers.
The innovation was presented on the celebration of the Deaf Awareness Week last December 1, an annual event held to raise public awareness about deaf challenges, community, and culture organized by the Department of Education Division of Angeles City. The presentation began with an overview of the study, followed by the processes in developing "HandSpoken" and its purpose, and then a demonstration of how it works.
The proponents are Angel Kiara Candelaria, Jennifer Castillo, Justine Gabriel, and Jan Carlo Camaya, and Janella Fermin.
