Holy Angel University, the only higher education institution in the country offering Professional Science Masters (PSM) in Cyber Security and Cybersecurity 3+2 (Bachelor of Science in Cybersecurity + PSM Cyber Security) courses under the School of Computing (SOC), recently partnered with Hack The Box to become a member of the Hack The Box University. Hack The Box is a massive, online cyber security training platform, allowing individuals, companies, universities and all kinds of organizations around the world to level up their hacking skills.
To keep up with the demand for future cyber security professionals with skills and knowledge in penetration testing, HAU-SOC submitted an application to become a member of Hack The Box University on August 25, 2021, to which the approval was confirmed later on September 9.
Under this partnership, Cybersecurity students will have access to the different training platforms offered by Hack The Box. It will enable students and professionals to test their penetration testing skills and exchange ideas and methodologies with other members of similar interests. Hack The Box also presents several challenges for cybersecurity trainees to work on, that are constantly updated.
Any device linked to the internet is at danger of becoming hacked by cybercriminals. A penetration test is a cybersecurity approach that businesses employ to find, test, and expose weaknesses in their security posture. Ethical hackers are frequently called upon to conduct these penetration testing. They are in-house workers or third-party contractors who impersonate an attacker's methods and behaviors to assess the hackability of an organization's computer systems, network, or online applications. Organizations may also use pen testing to search for vulnerabilities within the IT infrastructure and ensure that they adhere to compliance laws. HAU-SOC’s partnership with Hack The Box is an opportunity for cybersecurity students to gain further knowledge and experience in this subject matter.
