Communication Program Chair elected PACE PR Officer

The Chairperson of Holy Angel University’s Communication program under the School of Arts and Sciences (SAS), Dr. Leslie Medina, was recently elected the Public Relations Officer of the Philippine Association of Communication Educators (PACE) for the school years of 2021-2022 and 2022-2023. This was announced through an email from PACE Ex Officio Dr. Rowena Capulong Reyes to HAU’s OIC-President Mr. Leopoldo Valdes on October 18.

PACE is the pioneer, biggest and most dynamic national organization of teachers of communication, broadcasting and journalism. Fifteen (15) members of the Board of Trustees were elected, and of these 15, the organization elected officers for the positions. PACE members voted for their new set of officers through a secret balloting using an electronic form.

Dr. Medina, as the new PR Officer is responsible for managing the reputation of the organization. Part of the tasks include writing press releases, dealing with press enquiries, and writing and editing articles for online releases. As PACE shares the same mission with HAU and SAS, her current role will also enhance the involvement of the University in the activities and plans of PACE.

“I am humbled to be part of PACE, the oldest, biggest and most dynamic national organization of teachers of communication, broadcasting and journalism in the country. I look forward to sharing my time and talent to pursue the goals of the organization,” Dr. Medina shares.

HAU has been a PACE member for two years which benefited the University in terms of gaining further professional linkages of the schools and departments and the personal development of Communication faculty members.
