Cybersecurity stude, et. al place 3rd in DEFCON Hacking Competition

The Philippine Team called "Hackstreetboys" bagged 3rd Place in the recently concluded DEF CON 29 hacking competition, beating more than 640 teams worldwide. Considered the olympics in hacking, DEF CON is the world's premiere Hacker Conference, held annually in Las Vegas, Nevada. This year's conference was held online due to the pandemic from August 5 to 8, 2021.

AJ Dumanhug, a Professional Science Master's in Cybersecurity student in Holy Angel University is part of the Hackstreetboys, who performed Windows Enterprise (AD) Exploitation, Exploit Development, Web Exploitation, Privilege Escalation, and some Advanced Pentesting/Red Team Techniques to solve hard challenges in the competition.

Dumanhug was joined by other 17 members who are also notable cybersecurity practitioners and educators from different universities in the country.

Our PSM student AJ Dumanhug is one of the members of the team who won the CTF competition, wherein hacker teams attempt to attack and defend computers and computer networks. AJ is a PSM student achiever who constantly wins competitions and passes difficult certifications. Kudos to you AJ and the Hackstreetboys," says SOC Dean Dr. Francisco Napalit.
