This School Year 2021-22, Holy Angel University will implement a gradual phaseout of its Elementary School, starting with its Kindergarten and Grade 1. It was a difficult decision to make—the outcome of prayerful discernment—necessitated by the dwindling enrollment, which is the common predicament of private primary schools facing lopsided competition from government schools. Although our elementary school program has made great strides in its efforts to upgrade its academic standards through national accreditation, the pandemic with all its challenges and complications has only worsened enrollment. The phaseout will allow the University to focus instead on strengthening its Junior High School and Senior High School programs as evidenced by the construction of the new Geromin G. Nepomuceno Building, as well as its College and Graduate programs which will eventually define the future of the University.
We assure the parents of pupils who are currently in various stages of enrollment that we shall extend referrals and assistance in transferring to other schools of equal academic standards as Holy Angel’s. We assure our Grade School faculty as well that the University will do everything to prevent any layoff resulting from this phaseout.
Laus Deo semper!
