The Philippine Society of Mechanical Engineers (PSME) was hailed Champion in the 39th School of Engineering and Architecture (SEA) Battle of the Brains, embracing its theme “Ascendere: Rise Above the Wisest”. Joseph Bincang, Ian Padilla, Melkevin Serrano, and Yvette Tuazon of the PSME team grabbed the championship crown from the Philippine Institute of Civil Engineers (PICE). This annual quiz bee was spearheaded by the Philippine Institute of Industrial Engineers (PIIE) adopting the new normal in a virtual battle arena.
It was a friendly competition among the six competing SEA student organizations. The program appeared like a second wave of events of the yearly college days as everyone were bound to give their best in every round battle. PICE was announced 1st runner-up composed by team members Krisangel Abletes, Trisha Hipolito, Christian Patawaran; and Integrated Institute of Electrical Engineers (IIEE) as 2nd runner-up, with team members Honey Yambao and Neil Dakis, Jalen Dungo, Piolo Fajardo, and Severino Globio. The board of judges for this years Battle of the Brains were Architect Franz Allan M. Rodriguez, Engr. Rechelle Ann M. Gundran and Engr. Elmer A. Perez. It was hosted by the event guru Engr. Reynaldo G. De Leon.
