Angeles City's Holy Angel University (HAU), the first laity-run Catholic university in the Philippines, will observe its 88th Founders Day on March 8, Monday, with a Mass and wreath-laying ceremonies at Holy Mary Memorial Park.
The Holy Mass will be celebrated by 8:00 a.m. at the University Chapel. It will also include the launch of the culminating activities for the project FIDES 500, which initially commenced in 2017 for the 500th year of Christianity in the Philippines this year; as well as the San Usip project, the Marking Year of St. Joseph and 450th Anniversary of Christianization of Pampanga. The HAU founder, Juan D. Nepomuceno, as well as the entire Nepomuceno Family, was a devotee of St. Joseph.
This will be followed by the HAU Performing Arts' online musical concert to be livestreamed through the University's official Facebook page at 10:00 a.m.
The celebration will finally show on Facebook Live at 6:00 p.m. the stage performance of Juan & Nena: The Musical, originally presented in March 8, 2016 featuring the love story of HAU founder Juan D. Nepomuceno and wife Teresa (Nena).
HAU is one of the Philippines’ top universities, recognized beyond Central Luzon and in the Asia Pacific region, and is a testament to the legacy of Juan and Nena Nepomuceno, that delivers accessible, high quality Catholic education that transforms students into persons of conscience, competence, and compassion.
