Prof. Arlan dela Cruz, Chairperson of the Holy Angel University - School of Arts & Sciences Department of General Education was elected Vice President of Philippine Council for Peace and Global Education (PCPGE) for 2020-2021 during the PCPGE’s General Assembly cum Symposium with the theme “Global Spirituality and Global Perspectives toward Peace” held last February 19, 2020 at Miriam College, Quezon City. Elected President is Dr. Alice Botardo, the Director for Inclusive Education of De La Salle University in Lipa, Batangas.
Established in 1979 by a group of educators headed by its founding president former DECS Secretary Dr. Lourdes Quisumbing, PCPGE is an academic organization anchored on a mission to promote global citizenship by bringing schools together to advocate universal values of peace and social justice. Now on its 41st year, PCPGE envisions furthering its advocacy by embarking into more meaningful forays such as capacity-building programs for its member schools, integration of peace and global education into the curriculum, and establishing PCPGE Youth Chapters.
