An hour-long webinar live from New York City was delivered by Chris Lowney, American author of the book "Heroic Leadership: Best Practices from a 450-year-old Company that Changed the World", to the administrators and employees of Holy Angel University on September 17, 2019 at the PGN 611. The long-distance talk and discussion was made possible through Skype, where the audience were able to ask questions after Lowney's air time. The discussion was moderated by Professor Xavier Alpasa, a TED Fellow and Founder of Rags2Riches, a social entrepreneurship organization.
The session started with an opening prayer, followed by Lowney's introduction from University President Dr. Luis Maria Calingo. The topics discussed were the "Four Pillars of Heroic Leadership" and "Ingenuity in the School Environment". An open forum gave the chance for the audience to ask questions relevant to the subject matter. After the webinar, Prof. Alpasa facilitated a Short Ideation Workshop and ended the program with a synthesis of the discussion.
Lowney's "Heroic Leadership: Best Practices from a 450-year-old Company that Changed the World", published in 2005, explores the leadership principles and how business or organizational leaders can be transformed into "heroes" that make up a successful company. Lowney is a writer, public speaker, and leadership consultant. He previously worked as a managing director of investment banking firm, JP Morgan.
