Administrators, faculty members, and students of Holy Angel University joined other delegate institutions in the 4th Convergence of Luzon ICT Champions Conference (CLICkCon) 2019 last August 30 at Royce Hotel in Clark Freeport Zone, Pampanga.
HAU Assistant to the President Edna Marriza Santos delivered a plenary speech about "Leading Organization in the Age of Disruption" and was part of the panel later that discussed "Aligning Digital Skills and Scale Talent Development with the Age of Disruptive Innovation". In the afternoon, College of Information and Communications Technology (CICT) Dean Dr. Francisco Napalit also shared a talk with the subject "Disruptive Technologies: A Challenge in Cybersecurity".
Other speakers include Michael Shane, President of FilAm Software Technology; Calen Legaspi, Chief Technology Officer of Edusuite; Bari Silvestre, Chief Executive Officer of Keybol Games; Marc Concio, CEO of Resellee; Darlow Parazo, President of Subic Bay ICT Council; Noel Manankil, President of Clark Development Corporation; Hon. Ma. Josefina Belmonte, Mayor of Quezon City; Joey Gurango, Founder of Coders Guild; among others.
The conference also highlighted the "Technology Business Startup Mentoring" which provides an opportunity for delegates and start-ups to meet with invited potential investors and mentors to gain entrepreneurial advice and funding. The team behind Encephalon, HAU's Technology Business Incubator (TBI) were also present in the conference through Engr. Melani Cabrera, TBI Manager and Engr. Gina Tumang, Innovation and Technology Support Office (ITSO) Officer. Through a forum, they were able to introduce Encephalon to the conference audience. Engr. Tumang also shared about the support and services that Encephalon provides from a pool of internal and external experts, business conceptualization to commercialization, and fabrication facilities and business space. The Encephalon team envisions itself to become a premier technology business incubator servicing technopreneurs geared towards countryside development in Central Luzon and beyond. To date, there are 19 Incubatees who will be undergoing the incubation program after the center operates full blast in May 2019.
The conference, which was themed “Sustainable Development in the Age of Disruptive Innovation” is an annual event organized by the Luzon ICT Councils under the National ICT Confederation of the Philippines (NICP) and the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT), with the support of the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG). It aims to help leaders, decision-makers, and policymakers rethink their innovation strategy, develop a technology roadmap to increase organizational effectiveness.
