The School of Education (SED) conducted a teacher training on developing vocabulary, comprehension and composition skills on July 26 at PGN 611.
Dr. Rachel Red Amparo, a reading specialist from Davao, served as the training facilitator. She discussed matters on reading assessment and strategies especially for children with reading difficulties. As she pointed out, teachers and student-tutor volunteers must accomplish the task “slowly and steady, but surely.”
The attendees of the said training were the student volunteers of SED for its tutoring program, a Reading Teacher from the Basic Education Department, and the teachers and administrative staff from Abelardo G. Tinio Elementary School (AGTES), an adopted community of the Department.
SED has been implementing teacher training for the third time as part of its extension program.
