HAU Encephalon holds 1st PicabalHAUan Caravan

Over 650 graduating students from different schools and colleges of Holy Angel University participated in the first Encehalon’s caravan entitled "PicabalHAUan: Yours or Mine?", a forum on claiming ideas last July 10, 2019 at the university's PGN Auditorium. Several partner institutions were invited to discuss Technopreneurship, Startup Ventures and Prior Art Search. Encephalon also took the time to promote their facility, incubation program and services offered ready to cater students, alumni and faculty researches of the university.

The event started with an opening keynote from the university president, Dr. Luis Maria R. Calingo who addressed the crowd about how Encephalon started two years ago. Afterwards, Encephalon’s Associate Project Developer, Engr. Calvin Karl R. Garganta presented Encephalon as the university’s Technology Business Incubator (TBI) and the services they can offer. Engr. Edzel Galguerra, the general manager of Edge Systems Engineering talked about Technopreneurship and its idea generation. It was followed by Department of Science and Technology (DOST) Provincial Director Mary Michelle Quiambao during the morning session, and Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Business Counselor, Glicel Tiamzon during the afternoon session who talked about startups as a technological and business ventures. The event was concluded with the Prior Art Search talk of Engr. Gina S. Tumang, Innovation and Technology Support Office (ITSO) officer of the university.

Encephalon – TBI is one of HAU’s paramount projects. It is the university’s facility for incubation, acceleration and intellectual property (IP) generation of startup projects. The actualization of this facility will help HAU implement its fifth strategic initiative: research, development and commercialization of technology. In doing so, it will fulfil its strategic objective to be an authentic instrument for countryside development. Encephalon is the first TBI in Pampanga, and one of two in Central Luzon.
