The Great ‘88 celebrates its 25thSilver Anniversary

HAU High School Batch 1988 celebrated its 25th Silver Anniversary with a homecoming and reunion party on March 16, 2013.

The high school batch, also known as The Great ’88, commenced the celebration of its milestone anniversary with a Thanksgiving Mass at 7:00 a.m. at the Holy Rosary Parish Church in Angeles City.

On their homecoming visit, the batch members toured the campus and paid a courtesy call on Prof. Robert Tantingco, Vice-President for External Affairs and Corporate Communications.

Mr. Walter San Diego, HAU HS Batch 1988 President, updated Prof. Tantingco on the various activities of the batch for the year and emphasized his desire to make the grand alumni homecoming this year even more meaningful as the University itself marks a landmark period on the occasion of its 80th founding anniversary.

The batch is this year’s host of the 22nd HAU Grand Alumni Homecoming slated on December 28, 2013 which will have HS Batch 1963, The Evergreens, as the honorees as Golden Jubiliarians.

At the batch’s evening reunion party held at the Garden Dine and Bar Restaurant, Mr. Raul Narciso, Vice-President of HS Batch 1963, congratulated the batch on its anniversary and wished the group success on its hosting of the grand alumni homecoming.

Mrs.Fredeswinda C. Bauzon and Mrs. Alberta Z. Supan, high school principal and teacher of the batch, respectively, also graced the reunion party and recalled their experiences with the batch members when they were still their wards and students.

The batch council officers, led by Mr. San Diego and Mrs. Theresa Vargas, 2nd Vice- President, awarded Certificates of Recognition to past Batch Council Presidents for their untiring efforts in leading the group.

The awardees were Chairmaine S. Bauzon(2004-2005), July David (2006-2007), Danilo Rosales (2008-2009) and Nikita Masbang(2010-2011).

Mrs. May Fausto, Treasurer, and Mrs. Gemma Quito, Secretary, presided over the raffle of prizes.

Earlier, after the Mass, the batch members joined in a motorcade directed by Mr. Alexander Quiambao, Public Relations Officer. The motorcade proceeded from the city commercial district to the BayanihanPark at Clark Freeport Zone and, on the return, ended in the University campus for the homecoming visit.
