HAU-CEA joins MERALCO POWER CAMP APPRECIATION EVENT

“MERALCO POWER CAMP,” is a project introduced by MERALCO in 2011. This is a two-month accelerated development program where students get the chance to experience the “feeling of” working in MERALCO. It is a more than an “on-the-job” immersion and project based activities but the program also offers students the opportunity to become future leaders of the company. Following the success which the program has had, MERALCO is once again offering the same opportunity to deserving students.

Fortunately, among 600 applicants, two of our 5th Yr. BSEE students were able to make it to the list of 41 Power Campers, after a very rigid selection process. They are Ralph Henry Galang and Jennylyn Gonzales. Together with the other privileged applicants, they were provided with free board and lodging, “attractive allowance” and the chance to be employed by the company.

A “day” with the Power Campers was organized last April 15, 2013 at the Lighthouse located on the 14th Floor of Lopez Building, Meralco Center, Ortigas Ave. Pasig City. The campers had the opportunity to meet and greet MERALCO’s President & CEO, Mr. Oscar S. Reyes, together with his Senior Management Team. They were also met by the company’s Chairman, Mr. Manuel V. Pangilinan, (also the current Chairman of HAU Board of Trustees) who in turn acknowledged the inclusion of two schools outside Metro Manila, Holy Angel University and Lyceum of Subic.
