Holy Angel College HS Batch 1963 Celebrates Golden Jubilee

Making 50 years ago seem like just yesterday, members of the Holy Angel College HS Batch 1963 reeled in the years and celebrated their Golden Jubilee with a homecoming reunion at Holy Angel University on January 25, 2013.

High school memories of five decades past came flooding back through songs and dances, tears and laughter, old photographs and mementos as The Evergreens, the batch name of this year’s Golden Jubilarians, visited the University for a day of recollection and reminiscences – and reverence for their alma mater.

Led by Ms. Celia Flores-Timbol and Mr. Raul Narciso, batch president and vice-president, respectively, The Evergreens presented to Prof. Robert Tantingco, Vice-President for External Affairs and Communication, a ceremonial check for P100,000 which represents their pledge to contribute their batch’s “legacy donation” to the University’s Endowment Fund.

The Evergreens ushered in their three-day Golden Jubilee celebration with a Holy Mass celebrated by Rev. Fr. Jobert Villacorte at the Chapel of the Holy Guardian Angel and capped the homecoming day with a gala night and party which featured dance numbers from the batch members, presentations from the HAU Performing Arts and more dancing by the Golden Jubilarians to sixties music provided by a live band.

The batch members devoted the second day of their 50th anniversary reunion to apostolate work, which included lunch with the retired priests of Domus Pastorum of the Archdiocese of San Fernando, Pampanga and a visit and gift-giving to Duyan ni Maria Orphanage. In the evening, Ms. Isabel Torres opened her home to her classmates for a picnic and swimming party.

The Evergreens concluded the Golden Jubilee festivities with a farewell Hawaiian dinner-party at the Grand Palazzo Royale.
