HAU Relief Operations for Flood Victims (First Leg)

OCES once again appealed to the HAU community through a memorandum released on August 9, 2012 to open their hearts to the call of calamity victims for help. Angelites’ immediate response to the call led to the outpour of donations in cash and in kind and of voluntary service and assistance to the relief operations. Various offices/departments, student organizations, and class sections have shown support to this altruistic cause.

On August 22, 2012, OCES along with CMO, CLE, NTP and student volunteers distributed the first set of donations collected from the HAU community among flood victims in Sta. Lucia, City of San Fernando, Pampanga and among evacuees in Malabañas, Angeles City, comprising informal settlers and residents of Sitio Abacan, Angeles City.

Relief packages containing rice, noodles, assorted canned goods, coffee mixes (or individual packs of coffee, sugar and creamer), and bottled water were prepared by OCES staff and volunteer faculty and students. One-hundred eighty (180) families in Sta. Lucia and one-hundred twenty (120) families in Malabañas were served.

Recipients of said relief packages also included HAU students and employees who were also affected by the flooding brought about by incessant heavy rains.
