Holy Angel University Chorale in the First Robert Delgado Festival

Musica FEUROPA is the only choral competition in the country supported by the European Union.

The Holy Angel University chorale (HAUC) also participated in the first Robert Delgado Choral festival last May 5, 2012 at the Philamlife auditorium.

The concert featured 13 chorale groups which also included the Chorus Vocles from the Shrine of Jesus Church at Guadalupe Nuevo, Maryknoll Sanctuary Chorale from Baguio City, Tarlac State University Chamber Choir, the Lighter Side Movement from San Felipe Neri Parish in Mandaluyong, St. John Marie Viannet Chorale, Alay-Himig, The Siter of Mary Chorale from Boys Town, the Napocor Chorale, and the National Grid Corporation Chorale.

Each choir performed a song off “Invocations”, a compilation of liturgical works arranged by the renowned choral arranger Robert Delgado, which was launched that evening.

HAUC received a special citation for their “expressive interpretation” of a song off the album, You Raise Me Up.

Aside from the album launching, the concert was also a fundraising event for the Philippine Male Singers who will represent the country at the Festival International de Canto en Cataluna, which will take place in September at Puig-Reig, Barcelona, Spain. Delgado is currently the choirmaster of the Philippine Male Singers.

Participating choirs also performed their choice piece which showed off each choir’s unique sound and specialty.

The concert was headlined by three of the country’s top chorale groups: the Philippine Madrigal Singers and Imusicapella.
