Student Congress Region 3


In partnership with the Teacher Education Council, DepEd, Holy Angel University hosted the Student Congress Region 3 last March 07, 2011 at the University Theater. The Congress was participated by TEI Deans, Pre-Service Teachers (Education students) and Practicum Supervisors, Cooperating School Heads and Principals in Region 3. The Congress was designed to provide the participants a deeper understanding of the teaching profession, its imperatives as well as current trends and issues in Education.


Dr. Arlyn S. Villanueva formally welcomed the delegates to the University. The inspirational message was delivered by the CHEDRO III Director, Dr. Virginia Akiate. Dr. Benita M. Bonus, Dean of the College of Arts, Sciences & Education was tasked to deliver the Statement of Purpose and Mr. Ruel Zacarias, Chair of the Teacher Education Department presented the delegates. The topics discussed included: K+12, Experiential Learning Courses, Code of Ethics for Professional Teachers, Table of Specifications and Implication to Licensure Examination for Teachers. There was also an Interface between the Deans of Teacher Education Institutions and DepEd Cooperating Personnel.

  • Dr. Paraluman Geron, K to 12 Consultant

In sum, the Congress was an opportunity for our students and teachers to be updated on the requirements of the profession, an exposure on current trends, issues, and touch base with other students, Deans, Principals of the different Teacher Education Institutions in Pampanga. It also promoted camaraderie, mutual support and networking.
