October 1, 2008 Romancing the Piano with Prof. Raul Sunico

Piano with Professor Raul Sunico Dr. Raul M. Sunico -- A top Filipino pianist and the Dean of the University of Santo Tomas Conservatory of Music. He received various international recognitions as a concert pianist, recording artist, orchestral soloist and composer-arranger of Philippine Music. Dr Sunico got his Bachelor of Music degree from the University of the Philippines. His Masters in Music was earned from Julliard School of Music, New York, and his Masters in Statisticsm, from the University of the Philippines. He was a recipient of the Carmen Romualdez de La Cruz Scholarship in Piano and was a winner in the Young People’s Audition in 1966.


Dean Sunico’s repertoire ranges from classical music to Filipino love songs and Broadway musicals. He performs his version of the Kapampangan folk song Atin Ku Pung Singsing, which he arranged especially for the HAU concert.


His performance at Holy Angel University on October 1, 2008 was part of the concert series organized by the University in celebration of its 75th foundation day anniversary. The performance was an exhilaratingly powerful display of musical talent.
