Kapanalig Holds Peaceable Assembly Urging the Community to Quit Smoking

On November 19, 2009, the KAPANALIG or Kabataan Para sa Nagkakaisang Laban sa Ipinagbabawal na Gamot (an organization consisting of class presidents) held a peaceable assembly along Sto. Rosario Street, Angeles City, urging the whole community to quit smoking and support the implementation of the Anti-Smoking Law, or R.A. 9162, which states the prohibition of cigarette smoking in public places, which include PUJs.

Aside from the successful peaceable assembly, a two-day exhibit on the negative and ill-effects of smoking and using prohibited drugs was held in front of the HS-OSSA.

In the afternoon of the same day, the KAPANALIG members were given training on the proper use of fire extinguishers. They were also instructed to echo the training to their classmates.

The activity culminated on November 20, 2009 when all members of the KAPANALIG, including all officers of all the high school organizations and the athletes, joined the ACADAC (Angeles City Anti-Drug Abuse Council) at the Nepo Quadrangle, Angeles City, for its nationwide parade-rally against the use of prohibited drugs.
