IT Project Management and Cyber Security

The UP ITTC and EITSC sponsored a free seminar on IT Project Management and Cyber Security from October 26 to 30, 2009 at the UP ITTC Office in UP Diliman, Quezon City.

The first four days covered the nine knowledge areas in IT Project Management. Project Integration Management, Project Scope Management, Project Cost Management, Project Time Management, Project Quality Management, Project Communications Management, Project Human Resource Management, Project Risk Management and Project Procurement Management. Dr. Lemuel Braña of the Philippine Computer Society Foundation conducted the lecture on Project Management. He has more than 15 years of experience in various capacities in the IT industry. He is currently president of the oldest IT association in the Philippines, the Philippine Computer Society Foundation (PCSF). He is presently working as Vice President of Software Ventures International (SVI) which is one of the pioneering IT companies in the Philippines.

The last day was a lecture on the introduction to Cybersecurity, including issues and strategic solutions, specifically an overview of security threats and vulnerabilities, security technologies and security management practices. Prof. Richard Bryan Chua of the UP Manila College of Arts and Sciences - Department of Physical Sciences and Mathematics conducted the lecture on Cybersecurity.
