CICT Conducts Supplemental Review for CCNA Exam

The College of Information & Communications Technology (CICT) held supplemental review sessions for its BSIT major in Network Administration students last December 19-23, 2010 at SJH-702 in preparation for the 640-802 Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification exam, which is a globally recognized IT certification. Fifteen students joined the review which was facilitated by Ms. Rasel H. Dela Cruz, a Cisco Certified Academy Instructor. The objective of the review was to strengthen the students’ competencies in the following areas:

  • Describing how networks work
  • Configuring, verifying and troubleshooting a switch with VLANs and inter-switch communications
  • Implementing an IP addressing scheme and IP Services to meet network requirements in a medium-size Enterprise branch office network
  • Configuring, verifying, and troubleshooting basic router operations and routing on Cisco devices
  • Explaining and selecting appropriate administrative tasks required for a WLAN
  • Identifying security threats to a network and describing general methods to mitigate those threats
  • Implementing, verifying and troubleshooting NAT and ACLs in a medium-size enterprise branch office network
  • Implementing and verifying WAN links

At the end of the review, the students registered for the exam to be administered at the Pearson VUE Test Center at Holy Angel University.
