Cybersecurity student completes NPC’s Data Protection Certification Program

Mr. Bon Talampas, a Graduate student of Holy Angel University taking up Professional Science Master's in Cybersecurity degree is among the Data Protection Officers (DPOs) who recently took and passed the DPO Accountability, Compliance, and Ethics (ACE) Level 1 Certification Program of the National Privacy Commission (NPC).


The nationwide DPO ACE program is a 2-day training and certification program held in Fontana Convention Center at Clark Freeport Zone, Pampanga that aims to educate and capacitate a DPO on steps required to implement Data Privacy Act (DPA) of 2012 compliance in their respective organizations. It comprises of advanced case studies, practical, and written exams. Successful passers are issued a certificate reflecting their DPO skills level—ACE-1, ACE-2, and ACE-3.


According to the NPC, the demand for DPOs is rising worldwide as the global technology industry booms. HAU is currently offering the Professional Science Master's in Cybersecurity, which is a hybrid program that provides IT professionals with specialized knowledge in cybersecurity, data privacy and related skillsets to meet the demands and challenges of economic and infrastructure security in high-technology society.
