Communicators' League bags award from the 7th Philippine Student Quill Awards

It was truly a magical evening at Marriot Grand Ballroom last August 30, 2019 as Communicators' League, the official organization of BA Communication students, represented Holy Angel University at the 7th Philippine Student Quill Awards. The organization victoriously brought home an award of merit for Communication Skills, under Student Entries with LEVIOSA: The First Central Luzon COMMvention.

LEVIOSA is a large gathering of AB Communication students from nine participating schools in Central Luzon, to enhance their knowledge on the areas of communication. The event welcomed fashion photographer, Shaira Luna; broadcast journalist, Angelyza Bordon; and previous creative director, Alex Castro who all gave special talks for the audiences. The students were also given the opportunity to celebrate their talents and skills through different competitions under the fields of journalism, broadcasting, advertising, and photography.

The event was inspired from the Harry Potter book series by J.K. Rowling, which bore the idea that communication is an art that is beyond everyday conversations and holds the heavy responsibility of shaping thoughts and opinions of the masses.

“The first-ever Central Luzon COMMvention began as just a vision for the organization during my term as president,” shares Glan Manalo, the president of Communicators’ League 2018-2019. “That idea came to reality with the help of our adviser, my co-officers and executive staff, and the entire central Luzon BA in Communication studentry.”

“Being recognized nationally is priceless, considering this is the very first year of the COMMvention! We gratefully dedicate this award of merit to the 9 schools who participated last year namely: Asia Pacific College of Advanced Studies, Bataan Peninsula State University, Colegio De San Juan De Letran, Gordon College, Tarlac State University, University of the Assumption, Our Lady of Fatima University, Saint Mary’s Angels College of Pampanga and Pampanga State Agricultural University.”

The Philippine Quill and the Philippine Student Quill Awards are the country’s most prestigious awards programs that honor outstanding communication research, program, skills, and creative work.

Congratulations, Kasapi Ng Midya. Laus Deo Semper!
