SEA researchers propose three new CRADLE S4C Projects to DOST-PCIEERD

The Holy Angel University – School of Engineering and Architecture (HAU-SEA) team responsible for HAU’s first patented invention, the HAU Foam Shredder presented three new proposals under the Collaborative Research and Development to Leverage Philippine Economy (CRADLE) Program to the Department of Science and Technology - Philippine Council for Industry, Energy and Emerging Technology Research and Development (DOST-PCIEERD) last February 18, 2019. The CRADLE Program of DOST encourages synergistic relationship between the academe, research and development institutions, and the industry through collaborative Research and Development (R&D) projects. Under the CRADLE Program, the private sector industry will identify the problem; and the Higher Education Institution (HEI) or Research and Development Institution (RDI) will undertake the R&D to solve the problem.


The three proposed CRADLE projects will address and solve the emerging productivity and underutilization problems on delicacies manufacturing (for garlic and cashew chips) and bamboo hub centers. The projected time table of the project will be within a year, from the development of the prototypes until the fabrication of the utility model. If granted, these three projects with a maximum total project cost of Php 15 million will be next in line after the first approved DOST Funded Foam Shredder Project which will end on May 2019.


Behind this SEA-CRADLE team are Mechanical and Industrial Engineering faculties of the School of Engineering and Architecture, the same team behind the Php 2.5 million DOST Funded Foam Shredder Project. The HAU-SEA team is composed of Dr. Jaypee Pajarillaga, Engr. Melani Cabrera, Engr. Wilfredo Infante, Engr. R-Jay Quiambao, Engr. Ariel Cabildo, Engr. Kimberly Hazel Serrano and Engr. Calvin Karl Garganta.
