HAU Alumnus Director Carlo Catu wins ‘Audience Choice’ in France

Holy Angel University Alumnus Director Carlo Enciso Catu recently won the Audience Choice Award for his movie “Kung Paano Hinintay ang Dapithapon”, together with “African Violet”, an Iranian movie directed by Mona Zandi Haghghi at the 25th Vesoul International Film Festival of Asian Cinemas last February 5 to 12, 2019 in France.


According to Director Catu, he had fun interacting with the audience for they were very warm and appreciative after seeing his film. Before receiving the award in France, Director Catu won with the same film in the 2018 Cinemalaya Philippine Independent Film Festival.


This February 22 to March 3, Director Catu will be in Dumaguete to represent his other film, “Aria” in Cinema Rehiyon. He will also be attending the Film Festival Management and Programming by Young-Woo Kim, Film Curator, Programmer and Festival Consultant as preparation for his stepping in as Cinekabalen Kapampangan Film Festival Director for 2020.


Director Catu will also be working on his next feature film with Dreamscape and IwantTV to be produced by Bianca Balbuena to be shot in Japan this year.


In 2014, Catu graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management in Holy Angel University.
