School of Education as a School of Character Lecture-Forum Held

The School of Education (SED) conducted the seminar School of Education as a School of Character with Dr. Ernesto Grio as the resource speaker.

The speaker tackled on three important ideas: (1) Understanding SED as a School of Character; (2) Reflecting on the idea of Teaching for Impact; and (3) Identifying promising practices of a Character Educator.

The audience of the said event comprised of students and faculty members both in the graduate and undergraduate programs of the SED.

This event is held after the School of Education, together with the School of Arts and Sciences and the Basic Education, received the NATIONAL SCHOOL OF CHARACTER designation. It was given by the Character Education Partnership Philippines (CEPP), an affiliate of the Washington DC-based Character.org. Earning this designation means that the institution is known "for positively shaping the social, emotional, and character development of the young people entrusted to them. Students in these schools feel safe, respected, and connected to those around them, allowing them to thrive academically and socially, and be motivated to give back to their communities."
