HAU’s ‘Foam Shredder’ presented in Solidworks 2019 conference

The team behind Holy Angel University’s first patented project – the Foam Shredder machine was invited by COMPUTRENDS Systems Technology Inc. to present the invention during the “Solidworks 2019 Launch Innovation Day” on October 3, 2018 at the Grand Ballroom of Dusit Thani Hotel, Ayala Center, Makati City.

Dr. Jaypee B. Pajarillaga, Engr. Wilfredo L. Infante, Engr. Melani B. Cabrera and Engr. R-jay P. Quiambao, faculty of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering Programs of the School of Engineering and Architecture comprise this team who the designed and developed the Foam Shredder project funded by the Philippine Council for Industry, Energy and Emerging Technology Research and Development (DOST-PCIEERD). The event was participated in by universities and industries from across the country and different parts of the world.

Dr. Pajarillaga served as the Guest Speaker for the team, presenting the journey of the project and the team’s achievement through the utilization of advanced design softwares like Solidworks. HAU’s mission and vision and its facilities were also presented, as support in transforming the university into a research oriented educational institution.

True to its mission, the University procured the advanced software as a supplement to its learning and research on innovations and technologies development. Through the Foam Shredder project, the University was able to obtain its first patent issued last March 15, 2017 by the Intellectual Property Office of the Philippines (IPOPHL). The Foam Shredder is now on its commercialization stage, funded by DOST- Technology Application and Promotion Institute (TAPI) through its TECHNICOM program.

Now on its third year, the team is continuously working on thrusts to research and develop innovative products to benefit the community.
