2,115 teachers in Angeles City attend ‘Urgency of Character Education’ seminar in HAU

As an offshoot of the School of Character certification granted to Holy Angel University by the Character Education Partnership (CEP) Philippines, and in grateful celebration of its 85th Founding Anniversary, HAU offered a gift to its neighboring academic community from the public sector in the form of an extension seminar entitled “Urgency of Character Education: Teachers as Agents of Formation”. Held on May 8 at the University Theater, the said seminar was attended by around 2,115 public elementary and high school teachers and administrators under the Division of Angeles City.

Two sessions were facilitated by Mr. Emmanuel Rentoy, consultant from the CEP Philippines, who served as the guest resource speaker. The morning session was intended for elementary school teachers while the afternoon session was dedicated to high school teachers. Also present in the event were Ms. Edna Marriza C. Santos, Assistant to the President, who gave the welcome remarks and the Division Superintendent Ms. Leilani Cunanan, CESO VI, who delivered an inspirational message.

The project was made possible through the joint efforts of the HAU-Institute for Christian Formation and Social Integration, the HAU-Office of Institutional Effectiveness, CEP Philippines, and Department of Education Division of Angeles City Schools.
