US-based Nursing Profs visit HAU

Three Nursing Professors from the Dominican University of California conducted a two-day school visit in Holy Angel University last January 12-13, 2018, to get a grasp on the nursing education in the Philippines. These professors were Dr. Margaret Fink, Dr. Andrea Renwanz Boyle, and Dr. Luanne Linnard-Palmer.

A courtesy call with the University officials and a meeting with some academic administrators premiered the visit. This was followed by clinical site visits at Angeles Medical Center for operating room and wards exposure of Level 3 students, and Rural Health Unit of Barangay Cutcut, Angeles City for the community health nursing. Succeeding this was a tour around the facilities of the School of Nursing and Allied Medical Services (SNAMS) and some places of interest around the university. The first day of visit also involved a discussion on international accreditation, collaborative initiatives, and educational equity.

Aside from the exposure to University and nearby clinical sites, the visitors were also brought to Sitio Pidpid in Porac, Pampanga where the indigenous people's community is located. The visit finally concluded with a brief encounter with selected SNAMS graduate students and professors.
