HAU Supports Launch of ‘Agyu Tamu Emergency Disaster Command Center’

ANGELES CITY (July 24, 2017) – In support of Angeles City’s drive against illegal drugs, criminality, and terrorism, Holy Angel University President Dr. Luis Maria R. Calingo joined the official launch of the “Agyu Tamu Emergency Disaster Command Center” last July 19 at the Angeles City Hall.

The University’s participation is to signify support for the facility in ensuring the safety of the people within the vicinity. The Command Center will also serve as the department handling matters of public safety, emergencies, and law enforcement.

The formal inauguration of the PHP70 million worth state-of-the-art command center was led by Angeles City Mayor Edgardo Pamintuan. “This command center aims to help ease the peace and order situation of the city which will suppress, solve, and reduce criminal activities, monitor the traffic conditions, and give quick response to emergencies and disasters.” Pamintuan said.

The Command Center is powered with the latest technologies from the leaders in information and telecommunications equipment and services, Huawei and Converge ICT Solutions, headed by the latter’s Chief Executive Officer Dennis Uy. As part of the University’s social responsibility, HAU supports this facility which is first in kind in monitoring real-time activities for public safety.
