SBA holds 1st Advisory Board Discussion

On July 12, 2016 the School of Business and Accountancy (SBA) together with its industry partners held the First Advisory Board Focus Group Discussion. The Advisory Board is composed of industry partners’ representatives that would provide feedbacks on the curricular offerings of the School and the performance of its students who are deployed for practicum and its alumni whom they have employed.

The Advisory Board is composed of Ms. Justicia Dalida, an Entrerprenuer (Service), Ms. Lani Pacencia from Pag-Ibig (Government), Mr. Byron John Siy of TSB Realty (Merchandising), Ms. Edna Quitalig of Edna Quitalig Accounting Firm (Accounting/Finance), and Mr. Jona Henry Quiazon of Theme Builders Philippines Inc (Manufacturing).

The two-hour session was opened by the SBA's new dean, Dr. Joan C. Reyes, who extended her gratitude to all the participants of the event. This was followed by the introduction of the lead faculty members from different courses of the School namely: Dr. Albert Morales (Accountancy), Mr. Arnold Salcedo (Accounting Technology), Ms. Elizabeth M. Nepomuceno (Human Resource Development Management), Ms. Maria Cristina Naguit (Marketing), Dr. Joan Reyes (Business Management) and Atty. Catherine Reyes (Legal Management). Chairperson of Management Department, Mr. Rio Yutuc, and College Coordinators, Ms. Leah Manalang, Ms. Joy Anne Evaristo, Mr. Renz Marasigan, and Ms. Marcelina Santos, were also present. Leo Domingo Torres, a 4th year BS Accounting Technology and Student Council Vice Chairperson represented the student body.

Dr. Reyes enumerated and explained the objectives of putting up the advisory board, one of which is to continuously improve the curriculum. The activity was also attended by Dr. Alma Espartinez, HAU's VP for Academic Affairs, and, together with SBA Dean Joan Reyes, signed on certain agreements with the industry partners to further improve SBA's academic programs.
