AB Comm students dominate NLEX-SCTEX infomercial contest

AB Communication students of Holy Angel University have again bagged the 1st place in the the NLEX-SCTEX Infomercial-Making Competition. This is the third year in a row that HAU ruled the said contest.

The University entry, "Drive for the Future," is a three-minute video shows a child reminding his father to drive safely because his future is in his hands. It beat entries from the Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila and UP Manila.

The video was created by students Maureen Lapuz, Emmanuel Liwanag, and Jason Paolo Amparado.

The annual competition, which aims to promote road safety, drew participants from various colleges and universities in Central Luzon and Metro Manila.

Previously, Kelvin Aguilar's "U-Turn" won in 2013 while another CASEd entry, "Drive," won in 2014.

The board of jury included Charo Logarta (Bureau of Customs Information and Public Affairs Director and former ABS-CBN business reporter), Donnie Sacueza (film director, writer and professor), Lhar Santiago (host of Unang Hirit and GMA7 entertainment correspondent), and Marlene Ochoa (MNTC Vice President for Corporate Communications).

The awarding ceremonies were held last November 26 at the ICITE Auditorium, Eastwood, Quezon City. Aside from a trophy, the HAU students also received a cash prize of P20,000.00.
