The School of Hospitality and Tourism Management (SHTM) held its bi-annual Program Advisory Council (PAC) meeting last February 21, 2019 at the University’s Café Juan. The PAC’s main objective is to align the initiatives of SHTM to the needs of the industry, as well as to bridge the gap between the capabilities of graduates and what employers actually requires.

The Holy Angel University – School of Engineering and Architecture (HAU-SEA) team responsible for HAU’s first patented invention, the HAU Foam Shredder presented three new proposals under the Collaborative Research and Development to Leverage Philippine Economy (CRADLE) Program to the Department of Science and Technology - Philippine Council for Industry, Energy and Emerging Technology Research and Development (DOST-PCIEERD) last February 18, 2019.

Last February 15 and 16, 2019, the High School class of ’69 (Frontliners) from the Philippines and abroad successfully celebrated their Golden Anniversary at Holy Angel University.

For the Holy Angel College (now Holy Angel University) students in the 1960s, the name Wedelfredo Tecson Villareyes, or Jing or Jinggoy as he is fondly called, is an Angelite's pride. He was a former versatile, hustling basketball player (5'5") of Holy Angel's high school Wildkittens basketball team. He was the "Most Promising Basketball Player" during his high school days.

The Holy Angel University High School Class of 1964 celebrated their 55th Emerald Anniversary with a homecoming and reunion on February 9, 2019 at Plaza San Jose, DJDN Building formerly the Main Building.The high school batch, also known as the Astronauts, started the celebration with a Thanksgiving Mass at 4:00 p.m. at the Chapel of the Holy Guardian Angel. Right after the mass, the batch had some pleasantries at the DJDN lobby while being serenaded by HAU Rondalla.

The Department of Science and Technology-Philippine Council for Industry, Energy and Emerging Technology Research and Development (DOST-PCIEERD) visits the team behind the Holy Angel University Foam Shredder on November 9, 2018, for the presentation of the PHP 2.5M DOST-Technology Application and Promotion Institute-PCIEERD funded project “Prototype Development of Low-Cost Semi-Automated Foam Shredder Equipment”. DOST-PCIEERD was represented by Ms. Liezl D. Sueno and Engr. Al Leonardo L. Beato.

A symposium on “Drug Awareness and Prevention towards Drug Free Community” was organized by the College of Criminal Justice Education and Forensics (CCJEF) on January 15, 2019 at the University Theatre.

Mr. Jonel Atienza Velasquez, an alumnus of Holy Angel University, was hailed as one of the ten outstanding teachers of Central Luzon during the 2018 PRAISE Gawad Patnugot Award Ceremony at Otel Pampanga, City of San Fernando, Pampanga in December 2018 and was also one of the recipients in The Ten Outstanding School Paper Advisers during the 2018 Regional Schools Press Conference held in Malolos City.

Out of 34 represented countries, Holy Angel University Alumna Ma. Francesca Taruc was crowned Miss Tourism World 2019 Intercontinental last January 8, 2019 in Nanjing, China. Taruc also bagged the “Best Body Award” during the preliminary round of the competition.
