AOY XIII awards new set of winners

A new set of winners was announced by The Angelite, the official student publication of Holy Angel University during the Angelite of the Year (AOY) XIII Awards Night held on March 5, 2019 at the Plaza San Jose.

The Student of the Year Award was given to Kimberly Macuto from the School of Engineering and Architecture (SEA). Macuto was the former Editor in Chief of The Solution, the official student publication of SEA and has also been involved in community engagement programs.

The AOY Teacher of the Year Award was given to Dr. Alma Yutuc from the School of Business and Accountancy. With over 20 years of employment with HAU, Dr. Yutuc started as a working student back in college whose passion is in community involvement.

The AOY Organization of the Year was finally given to the Communicators' League (Comm League), the official academic organization of the School of Arts and Sciences' Communication program. Comm League has been a finalist of the AOY Organization Award for the 3rd time in a row. It is responsible for holding a number of significant events in the university such as the Paragala Media Awards, Commvention, Anti-Fake News Campaign, among others.

The Ignacio Pamintuan Award, named after the founder of The Angelite was given to the late Mr. Wilfredo Abraham Villareal, former Publication Adviser of The Angelite and one of the press freedom advocates in Central Luzon who have recently passed away.

Now on its 13th year, the AOY Awards has been scouting and providing exemplary students, employees, and organizations for the HAU Community to emulate.
