PIIE hosts 37th SEA ‘Battle of the Brains’
School of Engineering and Architecture
March 22, 2019

The Philippine Institute of Industrial Engineers (PIIE) hosted the 37th School of Engineering and Architecture (SEA) Battle of the Brains 2019 with the theme “Innovare: Pursuing Excellence through change” last February 26, 2019 at the Sacred Heart Garden.
It was a friendly competition for the SEA as the Institute of Electronics Engineering of the Philippines (IECEP) surely remembered history for they were eager to defend their title for the 4th time, but challengers like the Institute of Integrated Electrical Engineers (IIEE) and Philippine Institute of Civil Engineers (PICE) were looking to end the IECEP’s streak; not to mention the other organizations that compete with underdog roles. It felt like a second wave of events of the yearly SEA college days as students prepared for the competition, only this time it was about knowledge.
For the fourth time, the IECEP team extended it streak up to this year as they won the champion title. Representing the IECEP were Elton Tiglao, Mark Julius Parallag, Ian Kenneth Santiago; the 1st Runner ups were the IIEE represented by Hezron Caguiat, Edward Joseph Agustin, Gerald Comon; 2nd Runner ups were the PICE represented by Jeiel Valencia, Kimberly Guevarra, Joshua Philip Calaquian. The following students who participated in the event from the Philippine Society of Mechanical Engineers (PSME) were Edzon Michael Macapagal, Neil Jheran Sioco, Kenneth Jade David; from the Society of Aerospace Engineers of the Philippines (SAEP) were Mary Joy Mendoza, Francis Vincent Batac, Amos Matthew Portugal; from the Institute of Computer Engineers of the Philippines (ICPEP) were Francis Ian Aquino, Joshua Tolentino, Patrick Zabala; and from the United Architects of the Philippine Student Auxiliary (UAPSA) were Lawrence Gabriel Manguera, Jomar Pineda, Kenneth Marian Lingat.
