The 31st face-to-face Grand Alumni Homecoming was successfully hosted by the “The Flyers”, High School Batch 97 last December 30, 2022 at the University’s Gymnasium. The event was conducted in cooperation with the HAU Alumni Association, Inc. (HAUAAI).

The year-long preparation paid off when some 500 alumni from here and abroad attended the annual homecoming.

The homecoming commenced with a thanksgiving mass at the Chapel of Holy Guardian Angel officiated by Rev. Fr. Mark Anthony Montem Torrecarion, University Chaplain, followed by the election of HAUAAI officers, then the registration and parade of batches.

Among the key personalities who shared their messages were:

HAUAAI President Mr. Bernard D. Chua, Batch ’72 President Mr. Joselito Paras, and OIC President Mr. Leopoldo Jaime N. Valdes, Jr.

The main honorees were the HS Batch ’72 (Caluguran) who are celebrating their golden anniversary this year.

One of the major highlights of the homecoming was the awarding of the outstanding alumni. Awardees were Mr. Peter A. De Vera, HS Batch ’76 (Culture and Arts), Dr. Vittorio Pantig, HS Batch ’72 (Medical Profession and Arts), and Engr. Ador G. Canlas, College Batch 2001 (Engineering and Government Service).

The association also gave recognition to the three (3) deserving batches, HS Batch ’80 (Dekada Otsenta), HS Batch ’83 (Kalayaan), and the HS Batch ’78 (The Saints) for their continued outreach activities throughout the year.

The occasion also featured with dance presentations from the different batches and with the turnover of the symbolic key of responsibility from The Flyers (HS Batch ‘97) to the HS Batch ’98 who will be hosting the next Grand Alumni Homecoming.
